about

After more than twenty years immersed in my real career of making CGI art for dozens of film, tv, and video game projects I discovered the joy of pottery. I never would have guessed during my first wheel-throwing class at The Potters’ Studio in Berkeley, CA that my life and passion would turn so heavily toward this slow, muddy, and precarious craft.

I’m new to this and will likely always feel that way. Not just because I started working with clay later than most, but moreso because pottery is an ancient craft. There’s more to learn and experience than a lifetime could allow for. But that hasn’t stopped me from soaking up as much knowledge as I can from anyone willing to share it. The variety of techniques feels nearly endless, though thankfully I have no “end goal” in mind with pottery. This will remain a continued practice - a space for comparatively low stakes failures, triumphs, and experimentation.

Ultimately, this love of crafting and observing ceramics come down to the joy of being with ceramic in daily life. From simply observing a piece in its place on a mantle or shelf, to a cup of coffee or a home cooked meal served on ceramic, you are being connected to the Earth and human hands in a unique way. I would be honored for you to invite one of my handmade vessels into your life.
